The big cake debate

I went to Greggs the cake shop at 5.10 pm the close at 5.30 pm I asked for a steak bake to which they replied " weve sold out of them"
So I chose a sausage roll instead. Whilst I was choosing said sausage roll i watched the counter staff throw away several trays of cakes , biscuits and pies.

When I questioned the conter assistant about it she said " I know its scandalous isnt it, were not allowed to have them , we have to pay for them"!!!!!!

I guess at about 150 cakes and pies went into their bin. The bosses of Greggs would rather bin the goods then sell them at a reduced rate or let the staff benefit from them !

Mad or what?

Actually, I know where these cakes go!!!
In my Uni days I worked at Greggs, for the whole of 2 and a half shifts (the old women were really bitchy and they bullied me because I didn't know the difference between the pasties, WHO CARES WHAT PASTY IS WHAT!!!)
Anyway, for my lunch, I had to pay for the sandwich, and you were not allowed to take ANYTHING home UNLESS you paid for it!!!
I asked about where the left overs go and they are sold to local farms, where they feed their animals with it... In other words, they fatten their animals with the cakes and then we buy the meat as "local and organic" (my arse!!!)
    Disgraceful or what???
I would have still rather stuffed my face with the left overs...
